It is a considered a classic. Written in the time era of probably late 1800's/turn of the centruy. This book is well known, I just can't think of it. The story follows a young girl who comes to the city to live with her sister. She gets a job at a factory, but hates it. Eventually, she becomes the mistress to this wealthy guy. Then she becomes an actress. The story ends with her as a famous actress and her lover guy is homeless. Does anyone know the name of this book? It's driving me crazy.
