my dad has a very well off income, he spends ยฃ1000's of pounds on building motorbikes and mucking around in his shed and on his car (bentley) and me and my sister get ยฃ10 a week. but it's strange because sometimes he's really tight and other times he chucks his money around. it's like he spent ยฃ740 on 3 radios, one in car, one in van and one in shed, but me and sister dug up his garden because he said he'd pay us and we're saving up, so we were back breakingly digging for 3 hours and he gave us a fiver each. he's always like this. it's not about money, i just don't get it. (by the way, sometimes he does chuck his money around in our direction, he's not just selfish.)like i said - it's not about the moneyhe gets really tight when spending on himself sometimes tooim not a money grabbing teenager and i know it's his money, but if he makes me think i'm entitled to pocket money and then gets all tight on me, it's confusing

maybe he feels that you should do somethings for free rather than charging him. Some actions are their own reward

He can do what he likes with HIS money, because HE worked for it. When you get a job you can spend away darlin'

maybe he's just trying to do the best by you, & show you that he can't always just spoil you & fix everything by giving you moneyif he did throw money at you all the time, he might think you'll never gain independence or be able to acheieve things you can be proud of:)

Clearly you and you sister dont want for anything in life and your very lucky to be in that position......when you earn your own money then you can spend it all on what u like and want for yourself untill then lay off your dad he sounds like a decent guy who provides....maybe instead of moaning about him you should dig the garden for free to show him your not just a couple of money grabbing teenagers

It is his money not yours. So you are lucky you got the 5 bucks for the garden. When you grow up and earn your own you can do what you want with it. He owes you nothing other than food in your belly, clothes on your back (and not designer ones), a roof over your head and education and love.
