 Post subject: My cat has just had 5 kittens?

They are all feeding well and seem very healthy โ€œmumโ€ looks like she is doing a good job. However, they all have a small amount of crusty black residue in the corners of their eyes. Do you think this is something I can wipe away with cotton and saline solution or should they go to the vet?Sorry should have added that they are now three weeks old. Will this change your answer? Sorry bit tired its 6am here in UK

mom will take care of it most likely. just keep an eye and make sure that it doesnt get bad enough that it starts to build up and also check to make sure that it doesnt look like a cloudy infected discharge. if this is the case then they probably have a little upper respiratory infection. good luck and hope everyone does well

Keep an eye on them. Mom will probable clean them up. If it's still there in a day or so, use some warm water with the cotton to gently wash it off.

I have that with my kittens just now and they are 2 weeks old. I just give them a little wipe(from the inside of the eye out) with some warm water. Mum normaly licks them again after im done.Good luck
