No, the drive in the Xbox is just a DVD-ROM

No, the Xbox 360 does not have a built in HD-DVD drive. The HD-DVD attachment has to be purchased separately, and since HD-DVD lost the Format War, I don't even think that they are sold anymore in stores.

No the Xbox 360 has a DVD-rom drive, which is not compatible with HD-DVDs. Even if you change the settings in the 360 you can not play it because the HD-DVD drive is an add on feature. With Blu-ray winning the format war you should be able to find a HD-DVD drive for the 360 for cheap. I have even heard rumors that some people in Europe have bought them recently for the bargain price of $15.00. So just keep an eye on your local department stores bargain bin and maybe you can pick one up for cheap.
