 Post subject: Macbook or Macbook pro?

The main difference I see is the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT video card.... If i do not edit videos or play computer games, is this necessary? The most I really do is use photoshop for art things, and use word processing and web surfing. Thanks for your input!

if you do not edit videos or play games, then the only major difference is the scree size.but the macbook is good enough for you, its much cheaper

Sounds like you would be fine with a MacBook. If I were you I would take the extra money saved and get a nice monitor to plug it into when you do your photoshop work. The Apple Cinema Display 20 is very nice :)

The pro's also have faster processors, backlit keyboards, bigger screens, more ram, but for what you plan on using it for, you should be fin with just the regular MacBook. The pro's are designed more for intensive editing.
